Transurban posts strong September quarter traffic performance

Transurban has posted strong September quarter traffic and revenue performance. Of particular relevance to Sun Group bondholders is the performance of the Brisbane tollroad network

Key points:

For the September 2015 quarter, Brisbane proportional toll revenue increased 9.3% to $68m. Average daily traffic (ADT) increased 10.5% to 332,000 trips
Excluding Legacy Way from the data, Brisbane toll revenue increased 4.2% to $65m and ADT increased 4.7% to 314,000 trips
Legacy Way completed its first full quarter of operations. Traffic and revenue results for the quarter have exceeded Transurban’s initial projections. Average workday traffic on the Legacy Way was 19,000 trips
For Brisbane, average workday traffic increased 10.2% and average weekend/public holiday traffic increased 11.8% for the quarter
Of total ADT, car traffic increased 11.6% and truck traffic increased 7.2 for the quarter. ADT growth outpaced revenue growth due to the relatively increase in car versus truck numbers on the network
